Editor's Note: Such a situation should be of particular concern in areas ravaged by last year's tornado and plagued by recent brush fires. The loss of ground cover could have serious consequences as a result of unrestrained runoff.

* HEAVY RAIN IS ANTICIPATED LATE SUNDAY INTO EARLY MONDAY. THE BETTER CHANCES FOR HEAVY RAIN WILL BE ALONG THE EAST SLOPES OF HIGHER TERRAIN. EMBEDDED CONVECTION CAN NOT BE RULED OUT IN CONTRIBUTING TO LOCALLY HIGHER RAINFALL RATES. TOTAL RAINFALL ENDING BY MONDAY MORNING ARE EXPECTED TO BE BETWEEN 2 TO 4 INCHES.
* FLOODING OF POOR DRAINAGE AND URBAN AREAS IS ANTICIPATED...ALONG WITH POTENTIAL SMALL STREAM FLOODING. MAINSTEM RIVERS ARE EXPECTED TO STAY BELOW FLOOD STAGE.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON CURRENT FORECASTS.
YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE ALERT FOR POSSIBLE FLOOD WARNINGS. THOSE LIVING IN AREAS PRONE TO FLOODING SHOULD BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLOODING DEVELOP.

  1. remember the drainage problem i brought up in december? everyone please pray that all of us in this area are dealt a good hand...we have been through enough already. Southbridge council PLEASE get SOMEBODY to loo into the drainage issue....we just wasted 4 mild, dry months doing NOTHING while lots could have been done....now once again we will all be on edge tommorow night praying for no further damage. not only have the not even put in a simple temporary berm yet as promised, they didn't even sweep brookside road or the north side of charlton street...so all the grass i have been woring so hard to get back will now be inondated by road sand and water and wash out my yard AGAIN. thanks for remembering us...
