Hopefully things are going to change. There is going to be a big change in the way things are done in the school department. Good luck to all of the winners. The voters have spoken

  4. Congratulations to Shaun and Amelia!

The two challengers that worked the hardest, won, and damn well deserved it!

    Thank you, Southbridge!

  5. Can I ask why 1603 voters (the difference between votes cast for TC and SC) did not feel that SC candidates or SC issues were worth their votes? I am just asking...

    1. Maybe they felt they did not know enough about the candidates and rather than make the wrong choice, they chose to not vote.

    2. I think your math is off. Remember, there were three seats for town council, and only two for school committee. I would bet that almost everyone who voted for town council also voted for school committee. If you are right in what you are saying, then that amount of spread would be worth looking into, but again, I would need to hear how you got your numbers.

  6. I was hoping that Steve Lazo would get in as Councilor. So the odds are now 4-5 but could reverse to 5-4 if one or two get to see the light!

  8. I finally have some faith in the school system. I know things won't change overnight but we will now be heading in the right direction! Once our schools are out from the dark cloud, hopefully, Southbridge will see impovement in economic development and other areas. Thanks to all who chose the right candidates. Now the work begins!

  9. Well, the big question now comes. On the Town Council side of politics. Who is going to be Council Chairperson. I hope that you all realize that it was decided last night after the tally was done. Word may leak out on who it may be the same will happen on the school side. I did not go to any of the after parties to be privy of the discussions but here is my predictions. Town Council Chairperson Denise Clemence and on the School Committee my guess Mary Ellen Prencipe.

BB you should just stay in Florida. Mr. Ely stay here and do the job, this town needs you.

  11. I hope the school Committee can rally around Mary Ellen prencipe for Chairperson. She has the experience, she is fair and well respected by the all school administrtors.

  12. I agree with Watcher and Anon 9:00 Mary Ellen would be a great Chairperson for School Committee, and I could not see how this could not happen with the Fab 4 no more!!! Now it's time for the remaining three to announce they will not be seeking re-election, Bishop time to announce you are going to retire and hopefully Mr. Ely will stay with District. Eric give the New School Committee a chance and hold off on your job hunting... School Committee let Ely do what he was hire to do and turn our school district around...
