9. Vote to confirm the appointment of Mark W. DiFronzo as Fire Chief for the Town of Southbridge for an indefinite term effective June 18, 2012 and to ratify the Employment Agreement.

40. Vote to ratify the agreement between the Town of Southbridge and MIIA for the Property, Workers Compensation and IOD insurance effective July 1, 2012 in accordance with proposal submitted 5/31/12 and as subsequently amended.

41. Vote to approve Change Order No.7 in the amount of $56,123 revised total as requested by Consigli Construction and recommended by Joslin Lesser & Associates for the Middle/High School Project.

42. Vote to authorize the Town Manager to enter into a contract with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Recreation and Conservation to fund the proposed $11,020 for the Cops N Kids Summer Program to provide transportation to Streeter Point Recreation in Sturbridge as an alternative swim site and any other action required to support the summer program due to the reconstruction of the State Pool on Randolph Street.

43. Vote to ratify the agreement between the Town of Southbridge and Schmidt Equipment of North Oxford, MA under State Contract, DCR 461 in the amount of $121,600 to purchase a new backhoe for the Water Department.

44. Vote to ratify the agreement between the Town of Southbridge and Schmidt Equipment of North Oxford, MA under State Contract DCR 461, in the amount of $126,500 for the purchase of a backhoe for the Highway and Sewer Department.

45. Vote to ratify the agreement with Fuss & O’Neil in the amount of $78,000 for reengineering design and permitting services in order to stabilize the slope of the Reservoir #5 Dam.

46. Vote to appropriate funds in the amount of $750,000 from Water Retained Earnings based upon our current construction cost estimate for construction, police and engineering oversight for Reservoir #5 supply and Eastford Road clean and line.

47. Vote to ratify the agreement between the Town of Southbridge and Stantec Consulting Services in the amount of $45,000 and to appropriate these funds from Water Retained Earnings for the engineering of the Dennison Hill Water Storage Tank.

48. Vote to ratify the agreement between the Town of Southbridge and Stantec Consulting Services, Inc, in the amount of $26,700 and to raise and appropriate said $26,700 from Sewer Retained Earnings for the Sludge Dewatering System at the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

49. Vote to ratify the agreement between the Town of Southbridge and Scherborn Consolidated, Inc. for Sludge Conveyor Work at the Wastewater Treatment Plant and to replace belts and required rollers, bushings, etc. as per Attachment C in the amount of $125,000 and to appropriate $50,000 from Sewer Retained Earnings.

50. Vote to ratify the agreement between the Town of Southbridge and Stantec for Phase-1 of the Airport reconstruction in the amount of $134,391.81 and to approve the appropriation of funds in the amount of $134,391.81 from the Insurance Claims in excess of $20,000 account to the Tornado Damage Chapter 44, Section 31 account.

51. Vote to discuss a potential amendment to Section 10-104 Enforcement under the By-law by amending Line #7 “Schedule D-f to A-C” which would change the fee structure form $250-$300 down to $25-100. If voted affirmatively, send recommendation to the Board of Health for their input and recommendation.

52. Councilors Forum

53. Discussion of next meeting date – Monday, July 9, 2012 Reorganizational Meeting at 7:00 PM and Town Council Meeting following immediately in Council Chambers, Town Hall.

54. Vote to Enter into Executive Session M.G.L. Chapter 29, §23B to discuss strategy and conduct collective bargaining.

    Want to support a change in the trash fines? Just bring your cot and wait for agenda item 51.

  2. Can these councilors even remain awake that long?

    What really gets me is that after 53 agenda items they're going into Exec. Session to discuss STRATEGY??? And collective bargaining????

    No wonder why this town is such a mess.
