Martinek Launches New Blog

Longtime Southbridge blogger Dennis Martinek has launched a new blog.

He characterizes his new endeavor,, as a forum in which he can advance thought-provoking ideas with the hope of spurring serious discussion and debate.

His first two posts have focused on the current turmoil in the Middle East.

Martinek said that he views his role in this effort as primarily a moderator once he has stated a point of view.

I look forward to seeing this blog attract the kind of interest in national and international issues that characterized his earlier focus on local issues with Speak Out Southbridge.

  1. Thank you, Ken...just wanted to see if it was possible, on a national level, to engage some discussion that could be of value.

Less of my opinion, more of everyone else's thoughts. I don't have as much time to write as I do to put out short blurbs, and hopefully, create some positive buzz.

If anyone has any topics not specific to Southbridge, that you'd like to see or write about, just let me know.

What’s your take on Dr. Richard Wolff?

    As Taken from Wikipedia:

Richard D. Wolff (born April 1, 1942) is an American economist, well known for his work on Marxian economics, economic methodology, and class analysis.

He is Professor of Economics Emeritus, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and currently a Visiting Professor in the Graduate Program in International Affairs of the New School University in New York. Wolff has also taught economics at Yale University, City University of New York, University of Utah, University of Paris I (Sorbonne), and The Brecht Forum in New York City. In 2010, Wolff published Capitalism Hits the Fan:

Recently he released a new book in 2012: “Occupy the Economy: Challenging Capitalism”.

  4. Hi, I'm not familiar with him...I'll have to look Jim up when I have a chance. What's he all about?

    1. He’s about offering a clear understanding of the progressive “Failure/Corruption of the Capitalistic System” & its adverse effect on the “American Middle Class”.

Here's another lecture video goodie titled:
      “Global Capitalism - May 2012".
