Southbridge School Committee Meeting - June 2, 2015

  1. Wow, just watched last night's school committee meeting. Where to begin?
Quinney, " you don't get the best candidate when you appoint someone with a search.". So what about Buxx, Gardner, Stanton, Osmond, Gaboury, and countless others? Did I miss those exhaustive searches?
Donovan, (Kara, please watch the video. While you may have won those spelling bees, you obviously missed the grammar portion on double negatives.). However, you finally admitted that your vote to go to one principal was a mistake ( although you tried to blame Ely for not providing proper information for you. Do you think you should have done something, like your job, and done personal due diligence before voting on such a HUGE restructuring plan?). And why has it taken 3 years and 5 superintendents to realize this screw up? Slow learner? Real slow!
And then Big Mac and Stanton turned on the waterworks. I thought they were in outside during our resent rain deluge.
And can we omit our esteemed town councilor Mr. Vechia offering up his middle finger to those sitting at the dais.
It was a night that made me realize why my kids don't attend schools here.

  2. Watch out for Flying MonkeysJune 4, 2015 at 5:39 AM

After watching the entire meeting instead of the Markety Clip (by the way, how did he get that before the whole meeting was put on YouTube?) I think we were fed a huge dose of poppies by the chairwoman. There are two meetings left before she steps down from the throne and I think she voted in the affirmative just to be able to call for a re-vote to pass this plan with out a crowd in the audience. Just the lack of reaction from the other supporters of the restructure plan lend credence to this. Also, watch out for falling do-do from flying monkeys.
