Carson Campaign Admits West Point Claim Untrue

Republican Presidential Candidate Ben Carson’s campaign was forced to admit to Politico’s Kyle Cheney that he lied about ar key detail in his autobiography — his application and acceptance to West Point.

Earlier today, Ben Carson exploded at host Alisyn Camerota for a CNN report that accused the retired neurosurgeon of lying about key details about his life in his autobiography, “Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story.”

In “Gifted Hands,” Carson claimed that when he was 17 years old, he met with General William Westmoreland, and was offered a “full scholarship” to the military academy. The problems with his story are many — there’s no record of such an offer, nor even of him having applied, and there’s not even such thing as a “full scholarship” to West Point.

Theresa Brinkerhoff, a spokesman for the academy, told POLITICO that “[i]n 1969, those who would have completed the entire process would have received their acceptance letters from the Army Adjutant General,” and that “if he chose to pursue [the application process] then we would have records indicating such.”

When confronted with this evidence, Carson’s campaign manager Barry Bennett confessed to POLITICO that the story was a fabrication.

  1. How do these people - who are so easily capable of lying - rise so far to the top.....uh oh...I already know ....ran against one of them.

  2. There is a difference between vetting and a vendetta against a candidateNovember 10, 2015 at 1:22 AM

There is a difference between vetting and a vendetta against a candidate. MS.Walker and the liberal Media clearly have the later.
Re: The West Point thing turns out to be simply a matter of imprecise language with no attempt to deceive by Carson. The WSJ went out of their way to walk back their own story after rivals CNN and Political put out article that basically forced them to do so.
Re: The Angry child - A 1997 parade magazine article confirms this by his own mother at an attempted stabbing incident. Where is the Vetting and not the Vendetta?
RE: WSJ not being able to corroborate Carson’s claims that he protected white students during a school fracas. Nor the explanation of a Psychology exam at Yale doesn't stack up. BUT… , The Yale student paper article from that time exists and covers this very story. These things exist and confirm what he has said so, again where is the vetting and not the vendetta?
Let’s look at Hillary in comparison.
Hillary gave separate explanations of Benghazi terror attack. Privately she told people it was an organized terrorist action, publicly she blamed it on a video tape. Where is her accountability and scrutiny from the left?
Carson has tiny issues about his documented life which may need to be tweaked meanwhile Clinton largely got a pass on the Benghazi situation where Americans died. She also got a pass when she told the world she was under sniper Fire in Bosnia. She misremembered and got a pass that Brian Williams wishes he got. No accountability or scrutiny from the left at all.
Lets not forget the Clinton foundation which took in 500 million from overseas creating quite a conflict of interest. Yes, the truth, what difference does it make when the liberal left is in control of the media’s vendetta against the right simply to get her elected.
Lastly, Ms. Walker’s favorable position on term limits was priceless. She would have had both Senator Moore and Sen Brewer out of office with that position. She didn't lose because her opponent lied about her. She lost because she couldn't convince enough people she was capable of doing the job without embarrassing this district.

    1. At least there were those who were able to warn us about the Kenyan Muslim currently occupying the Oval Office, right?
As long as the freedom caucus keeps things frozen until we elect Carson or another of his messianic brethren we'll be able to get back on the (far) right track. After all, George W. Bush did such a great job.

    2. Talk about exploiting victim-hood. Carson has been subjected to nothing like the endless harrasment from Fox News, the conservative blogosphere and the Republican Congress that has been directed at President Obama and Hillary Clinton. Get over it you whiney, snot nosed baby.

    3. There is a difference between vetting and a vendetta against a candidateNovember 10, 2015 at 9:10 PM

Ha the 2 dozen lawyers keeping Obamas Columbia and other records in the dark allowed for SO much vetting about him to be conducted.

You liberals are going to be crying foul when the republicans do what Obama has done while in charge. How quickly you will forget how right it seemed at the time Obama was overstepping.when the shoe is on the other foot.

Oh and Poor Baby - if all you got is insults you best just to keep them to yourself. You do the left no service with that but simply expose them for the hypocrites that there are.
