If I understand things correctly, if the Board of Directors votes at Tuesday's meeting to classify Southbridge as a Level V district any action taken by the school committee that evening could be ruled null and void.
I really hope so because I don't want to be put in a position as a taxpayer to pay for 2 Superintendents contracts.
The Council takes its orders from the Lawyers that the taxoayers pay all too well. The Town Manager appears to take his orders from Casell. And our schools are to be run from Beacon Hell. Why bother with another election? Use the election money to buy text book direction. Elections are only for building the home rule myth ! At least Santa Claus brings gifts and we get to drink a fifth. The Easter Bunny brings a basket, but the future of Democracy is in the casket.
Totalitarianfarian, it's about time that you woke up and smelled the Java. What did it for you? The last five Manager's working for the best interests of a Vermont Company or the serial failures of the School Committees and Superintendents?I have nit voted in a Town Election since Officer Richie prevented an elected official from sitting in the seat he was elected to sit in, months before a Court made its decision. If the Gentleman was allowed to take his seat, the Judge would have likely ruled differently. The Police should have stayed out of that. For me, that was when it was obvious that if I want a say in this town, I best buy lots of Casella stock and conduct a takeover, or figure out how to be the Town Manager. The Student Council at SHS has as much influence as our Council does, and they have more backbone and ask more questions.
