MassDevelopment issues innovation centers RFP

MassDevelopment has issued a request for proposals
from small- and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises seeking to create
"innovation centers". The program is designed to give companies
access to expertise and equipment they lack in-house, according to the state's
finance and development agency.
Known as the Manufacturing Futures Program, the
effort will subsidize the cost of contracting with innovation centers selected
under the RFP to solve technical problems that can hinder growth.

Is Comcast the Worst Company in America?
There are a lot of really strong contenders for the title of worst company in America. Walmart, Bank of America, Ticketmaster and Carnival Cruise Lines have all consistently delivered exquisitely horrible experiences to the American consumer, and their contributions to the national anxiety level must not be underestimated. But there is one firm that truly stands out — a company so horrendous the very mention of its name causes body tremors and facial constrictions. I refer, ladies and gentlemen, to Comcast, which seems to take as its motto, If you do a thing, do it as badly as possible.
According to Comsumerist’s annual reader poll to nominate the Worst Companies In America, Comcast is the best at being the worst. The cable company has won the Golden Poo award for the second time, excelling in awfulness in an industry dominated by companies that treat their customers to a never-ending pile of crap.

Woodruff Weighs In On Trinity

Ok people it's time for my 2 cents on this one!! I have done my homework on this lunch situation. Thirty plus years ago the School District and Trinity had a good faith agreement to feed the children. Back then the School Committee and Trinity worked as a team. They were given 2 people to work there and the food to feed the kids. Trinity has always paid for their lunches and milk which covered the cost of the employees and the food. There is nothing illegal about it. Now the cost of everything has gone up and quality of food down, therefore leading to less kids buying. As a result, Trinity brings in less money while the cost of everything continues to increase.

Fox News is tearing us apart
The continuing right-wing effort to make a hero out of
Michael Brown’s killer, Darren Wilson, may not turn out so well, if the past is
any guide. Remember Cliven Bundy? Donald Sterling? George Zimmerman?
Just because liberals don’t like someone doesn’t mean he
should automatically be a hero to conservatives. There was a point when
even the National Review seemed to recognize this — editor Rich Lowry once
wrote a column titled “Al
Sharpton Is Right,” about the need for charges to be filed against George
Zimmerman, when Florida officials were dragging their heels.
