Sunday Photo-‘Toons 1.23
I received another three photo-‘toons this week from
long-time contributor IMTownie.
The submissions caused me to think how much he has
participated in this dubious enterprise.

Sunday Photo-‘Toons 1.17
Well this has been a week where the political landscape has been changing at all levels – local, statewide and national.
Obviously the crowning event was the long-awaited announcement of Mitt’s running mutt. It was done with all the calculation of a late Friday night Washington document dump.

Sunday Photo-‘Toons 1.16
Another week in beautiful cosmopolitan Southbridge and we return to the local humor mill.
Once again I am bedeviled trying to come up with anything more laughable than what our local solons provide for us.
Nevertheless, we give it the old collage try with raw materials provided as usual by the Southbridge town council and the Southbridge school department.
An additional dollop of amusement is provided at the end of the week as Mitt Romney wrangles an endorsement from another socially potent icon.
So, in the spirit of the Olympics, down that heaping bowl of Wheaties and wash it down with a frosty mimosa made of Florida OJ and French champagne, sit back, enjoy the funnies and let all that fiber do its thing.

Sunday Photo-‘Toons 1.14
Insofar as it’s the dog days of summer and everyone is entitled to a vacation, The O’Zone decided to take a vacation from Photo-‘Toons last week.
Further, since it immediately followed Friday the 13th and would have been the thirteenth installment, I decided to follow the example of all the best hotels in numbering their floors and just eliminate it.

Sunday Photo –‘Toons 1.7
This week’s edition takes on a musical and movie theme. It wasn’t intentional. It just worked out that way.
We manage to blaze a path from Gone with the Wind to Star Wars with Singin’ in the Rain and a hint of Twister thrown in.
So sit back, ready your morning popcorn and Big Gulp, and enjoy this week’s version of cinema sort of verité.

Let’s Have A Contest!
I want to thank Dennis Martinek for telling me something I didn’t know.
Apparently there’s an airport in Toronto with a very familiar name.
Given the photos he so kindly sent me I engaged in a little creative “re-imaging”.
Afterwards I tried a number of alternative captions, but I decided it would be fun to let you, The O’Zone readers, have a shot at it.

Should He Stay or Should He Go?
Ken O’Brien
A week ago I quite innocently acted on a tip from a friend about the fact that Southbridge School Superintendent Eric Ely had applied for a position elsewhere.
To my absolute shock and surprise the resulting article has become, in one week, the second most read article in the history of the O’Zone.
There was a flood of comments, many of which revealed a deeply-seated antipathy toward elements of the current school administration, particularly at Southbridge High School.
