From today’s (January 16, 2012) Southbridge Evening News, Partnership, town teamup to recruit business: The Planning & Development subcommittee voted unanimously Thursday night to support a proposal to contribute $3,000 toward a late May event aimed at attracting commercial and industrial companies to town.
“Retail, I don’t think, is going to work as well in Southbridge as commercial or industrial,” said the idea’s proponent, Downtown Partnership President and former councilor Ronald Chernisky.
Ken, the simple fact that these Simpletons think that they can bring businesses to Southbridge with a $3,000 budget for a non-government entity?
ReplyDeleteI'm been in business long enough to tell you, that's not enough to advertise.
Let's call it what it is: a gift to Ron Chernisky, right before the election, to help elect Denise and Cruella de Nikolla's people.
Absolutely.
ReplyDeleteYou really have to wonder why this couldn't have been done in-house by the Planning and Development Office.
OOPS! Excuse me. I just looked again at my collage!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't Ron Chernisky live in Sturbridge now? has he moved back to Southbridge?
ReplyDeleteWhat business does Ron operate in Southbridge? Does the track record of the Downtown Partnership warrant the town investing in their organizational skills?
Mr. Chernisky, who is apparently the Leaders of the retail oriented Downtown Partnership, stated that “Retail, I don’t think, is going to work as well in Southbridge as commercial or industrial”. How many businesses belong to the Southbridge Downtown Partnership?
I have a feeling the two new businesses downtown are incubators of a much larger scale of something not right going on.
