Item IV. C. 2 - What does this say now? What are they attempting to do with this policy - guarantee that the public is silenced at future meetings?
ReplyDeleteAppointment of Finance Director??? If Aaron Osborne is named Director of Finance AND if ALL School Committee members vote yes...the WHOLE committee should be BOOTED!.
ReplyDeleteThey should be booted NOW!
DeleteSeriously Folks, this committee should wasting time with policy BS. Create a REAL and SERIOUS search committee for a REAL, long term, superintendent. Not some guy who belongs in a nursing home, or a tyrant with little knowledge ior experience.
DeleteTwo and a half years without a permanent superintendent. Really.
Appointment of Finance Director?!?!!?!? gee, was this an advertised position??? What are the qualifications for being a 'school' Director of Finance???? Does our esteemed SC even know??? The criteria is not as simple as balancing a checkbook! Mr Osborne has yet to produce a line item budget - does he know how? Was he having a difficult time because the great & wonderful OZ , eh, I mean Buzz, never let anyone see anything ???
DeleteAre we to assume that Mr Osborne is the annointed one??? gee, will they share his credentials? will he get a raise? does this mean he will no longer be the 'Supervisor of Instruction' ???? and the 'Director of Technology' ?????
Is anyone else as confused as I am????
Any thoughts on what is implied by the statement that the Executive Session will deal with the Superintendent's contract?
ReplyDeleteThoughts? Well...perhaps they will play deja vu (ala July 2012) and give her a 2 year extention...
DeleteBut seriously, the 'allegations' made by the staff, that prompted the investigation are quite serious and I find it hard to believe that they were not truthful and/or blown out of proportion. Add to that the most recent snafu of her awarding paid days off to administrative staff @ the Cole Avenue building and then claiming she only did what was done in the past (NOT) -the woman is a pathological lier. I do not see how they can keep her - BUT - she does have a contract - and that needs to be dealt with....will they buy her out??? why not, it's only $$$....keep her??? Oh Lord - can they be that stupid??
Frankly...I think they are overwhelmed and can't decide what to do..whether she stays or goes - more taxpayer $$$ has been wasted and morale w/in the school system has been damaged.
What happened Tuesday night?
ReplyDeleteAs I heard, from a couple of people that were there, it would seem that the walls are closing in - hmm....maybe there is something to this $$$ thing! Brent & Quinney had temper tantrums directed at a variety of people (they do not like the filming of subcommittee meetings and the endless 'play' of the meetings on Cable Access) especially poor Mike Montigny. I understand Brent was his usual rude and bombastic self when addressing Terry Colognesi - who was there to talk about a Rotary program for the students - but I also understand Terry put him in his place - good for you Terry!!
DeleteThe appointment of a Finance Director was tabled till February; and the rumored agenda for the Exec Mtg was to discuss/confirm Ms Gardner's exit package - which we can all expect to be a sweetheart deal - like all the others.
The meeting was filmed and I am sure that Mike will post it as soon as he can.
Kenny - would it be possible for you to cull through your archives and put together a potpourri of snippets from previous years SC mtgs - featuring the tirades & tantrums of Brent & Quinney BEFORE they were on the other side of the podium. They have forgotten their antics of - I think mostly 2011/2012. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestion. I'll look into it.
