Again, they will weather this storm as well. At least 30 days for an investigation report and no media outlet covering the story (this blog excepted). The main problem is that Gardner the Bully is still able to run loose through the hallways of the Southbridge Public Schools. She also has access to any of the documents she wants to shred.If these allegations were lodged against a superintendent in any other school district there would be an immediate outcry in the media and the individual would immediately be put on leave. However, in Southbridge we have become accustomed over the last few years to the ineptitude of our elected officials and their handpicked senior administrators. It is sad that the fuel being used by some to stoke the fire comes at the expense of the SPED students and parents. This is just a ploy to misdirect attention from the major problems with an inept and overstuffed school administration. So too is the soliloquies of the Bobbleheads and the Beard who rant about the "Blog Mentality" and "Dwelling on the Past." These too are strategies to obfuscate their own responsibilities in covering up the sins of the past. Finally, the only way to move forward in this district is to make peace with the past, make whole those who have been damaged, and to reorganize the district administration. The SC should have their lawyers contact all those who have cases against the district and settle them immediately. Then, they should change the titles of all those jobs in the district administration, eliminate many of those superfluous positions, and have all of the district administrators reapply for their jobs. It is only by making people whole and ridding the senior administration of dead weight that we will be truly able to move forward without constantly being jerked into past by the bungee cord of incompetence.
OK, can anyone tell me where Monday night's Family and Community Support subcommittee meeting is being held? The district website indicates that it will be in the MacKinnon Chambers at Town Hall. The public notice at Town HAll indicates that it will be in a Room 100 on Cole Avenue. I'm confused!One would think that with the recent super-sizing of staff at central office this wouldn't be an issue. Then again, perhaps the school committee really doesn't want "family & community involvement."
I believe it is in Rm M100 on Cole Avenue - that's what Ms Congdon stated during the meeting; interesting tho, district website lists the meeting as taking place @ 'Central Office' - 41 Elm Street, Council Chambers - hmm...'Central Office' is on Cole Avenue now! and yes, you would think that w/all the 'staff' - SOMEONE would be in charge of proof reading updates to the website....do like your comment about maybe they don't want more 'community' involvement....
