I’m sitting here tonight TRYING to watch the
interviews of candidates for Southbridge Town Manager.
The whole time I am struggling to understand both
the questions and the answers.
For weeks the residents of Southbridge have been
subjected to inferior, distracting sound quality on our local community cable
channels.
How much longer is this going to continue?

How can I get on to watch the live interviews?
ReplyDeleteGo to channel 192.
DeleteI was hoping to see it online...., but thank you!
DeleteIt will appear on YouTube, perhaps tomorrow. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOIHVaZwfo0ZC1S45BXWS2g
DeleteMaybe we could bring back the guy that knew how to operate the equipment?
ReplyDeletedid you call and ask what was wrong?
ReplyDeleteThey've been aware of the problem for some time --- since they put in some new equipment.
DeleteI'm going to call and see if they will explain before the meeting is over
DeleteThey posted an explanation on there fb page after the meeting..........
ReplyDeleteHere is the Facebook posting...
DeleteI just got off the phone with a concerned citizen - they asked us why we are having trouble with the sound. I would like everyone to know that we have been in touch with Charter Communications several times in the last week, and we have asked them to please switch their settings at the head end on Lebanon Hill Road so that their encoders will mesh with our new system. We have upgraded all of our equipment, including our playback system for Channels 192 and 194, as of the first week of May - our vendor has not officially finished this project. The sound, in our opinion, is very bad right now, to say the least. We offer our most extreme and sincere apologies during the time of technical difficulties, and we at SCTV want you to know that we have urged Charter to fix the problem as soon as possible. They have pledged to work on it until it is fixed, with an estimated time of repair being by mid-next week. We will continue to update you through our Facebook page to let you know what is going on, as the citizen who called us tonight said that "people are afraid to call and ask what is going on" - we at SCTV want everyone to know that if you ever have a problem, please feel free to call us at 508-765-1525, or message us on our Facebook Page, or access the town website to air your concerns. We are committed to making your experience with local access cable the best that it can be - and I will call Charter again tomorrow, and every business day after that until the problem is resolved so that the citizens of Southbridge will receive the information that they deserve in a timely manner about our technical difficulties. Thank you again to the citizen who called here at the end of the meeting - we appreciate ALL feedback!
