JOBS?

The only reason that the unemployment rate did not spike during Bush’s first term is that the public sector so derided by conservatives was rapidly adding jobs. If the public sector had added jobs at the historical pace under Obama, rather than hemorrhaging hundreds of thousands of jobs, the unemployment rate would be under 7 percent today.

  1. More excuses from the apologist in Chief-- and Obama, too! O'Brien and Obama must be the only two people in America who's main mirror is their rear view mirror. That way, they can always look back and blame. Shame about Roosevelt allowing that little Pearl Harbor thingy to happen. Selective memory: the motto of the Dummocratic Party!

    1. Further proof of what I've said all along - Romney supporters can't deny the facts, they can only resort to insults.
Romney's plan is nothing more than a return to the failed policies of the Bush era.
His promise of 12 million new jobs is a chimera. Economists of all persuasions predict that this is the minimum trajectory regardless of whether or not current gridlock persists.

  2. Obama supporters can't deal in facts. They can only blame others, take no responsibility, and resort to the failed policies of the last four years. Great job with job creation, Barry! Four more years of socialism! You are both morons, but Americas blinders are off. Why can't Barry get YOU a job?

  3. Further proof of a pig-headed party loyalist. This guy ALWAYS has to be right, like a typical Democrat. Blame the wealthy, to pay for the mistakes of government. Take your government and stick it!

  4. Assuming you are right, do you think adding public sector jobs really helps the situation? Who pays for those jobs? Who pays for the out of control benefits? The tax payers.

Public service jobs produce nothing except more waste and spending.

    1. Most of those lost jobs are not Federal, they're state and local - teachers, fire, police.

  5. Early this morning on BookTV, I caught author & former corporate investigator, Greg Palast, talking about his new book:

[Billionaires & Ballot Bandits: How to Steal an Election in 9 Easy Steps]

The non-fiction work made it's debut last week and is already on the NYT Bestseller list @ #10(non-fiction. Definitely worth the nose dive simply because...

"The book names the filthy-rich sugar-daddies who are super-funding the Super-PACs of both parties--billionaires with nicknames like "The Ice Man" ( Harold Simmons), “The Vulture" (Paul Singer), and The Brothers Koch. What emerges is the never-before-told-story of the epic battle being fought behind the scenes between the old money banking sector that still supports Obama, and the new hedge fund billionaires like *Paul Singer* who not only support Romney but also are among his *Key Economic Advisors*. Although it has not been reported, Obama has shown some backbone in standing up to the financial excesses of the men behind Romney."

Palast illustrates: how the 2000'/2004' US election was rigged through “purging” black voters off the electoral rolls. The same thing occurred in 2008'; yet Obama managed enough votes to win.

The "purging" of black voters - who overwhelmingly vote Democrat - partly entails matching the name of a felon, white or black, to a black voter with the same name, and striking them off the roll.

Palast continues: But in 2012, it will be much worse. Get ready for the bottom line; the number of Black and Hispanic registered voters in the USA has fallen radically since 2008, by two million in these four years."

All over the nation, party hacks are playing 'gotcha' with mail-in ballots. Each one costing several thousand folks their vote; wrong envelope, wrong postage, questionable signature. stray mark (spoilage), folded wrong, lost by election officials, and an X instead of a dot in the bubble.

Palast emphasizes: on April 4th, 2012' he (Obama) made a move that could prove to cost him his presidency. Obama demanded a US Federal Court stop billionaire hedge fund manager Paul "The Vulture" Singer from attacking Argentina.

In this case, Singer had sued to get millions, even billions from the government of Argentina for an old debt that President Ronald Reagan had already settled in a deal involving the biggest US banks. But Reagan’s deal was not good enough for Singer and his hedge fund NML Capital. Singer demanded that a US court order Argentina to pay him 10x the amount he’d get under the Reagan deal. To get his way, “The Vulture” also sued to stop the Big Banks from getting their own payments from the Reagan deal.

Obama, a constitutional law professor, suddenly remembered that the president has the power, unique to the Constitution of the USA, to kick the Vulture’s ass up and down the Continent, then do it again.

Specifically; Obama and Clinton demanded the court throw out Singer’s attempt to bankrupt Argentina. This was Singer’s nightmare: that the President of the United States would invoke his extraordinary constitutional authority under the Separation of Powers clause to block “The Vulture” and his hedge-fund buddies from *making super-profits over the dead bodies* of desperate nations.

Palast notes; how Texas' corporate raider Harold Simmons, known as "The Ice Man" due to his "merciless”, “cold-hearted tactics", is now the #1 donor to the Republican Party. He’s got plans for a radioactive dump in Texas.

Now, toxic dumps have a habit of leaking and causing cancers, writes Palast. If this one leaks it will poison and irradiate the Ogallala [aquifer, the drinking water source for eight states].
