Overview by Board of Assessors (BOA) on tax classification and the tax rate –

9. Vote to establish a tax classification factor of
1.0 for tax purposes (The BOA recommends a “Yes” vote for a single tax rate).
10. Vote to adopt varied classifications of property
for tax purposes, including open space discount and residential exemption (The
BOA recommends a “No” vote).
11. Vote to adopt a single tax rate for all classes
of property (The BOA recommends a “Yes” vote).
12. Vote to amend the appropriations of the FY 2013
budget as follows:

13. Vote to appropriate $47,700 from Overlay Surplus
to reduce the FY 2013 Tax Levy.
14. Vote to raise and appropriate $100,000 to the
Stabilization Fund to cover anticipated additional costs in the Snow and Ice
Budget for FY 2013.
15. Vote to appropriate $700,000 from Certified Free
Cash to the Stabilization Fund.
16. Vote to approve proposed amendments to By-law
Chapter 6, Section 6-100 “Licenses and Licensing Regulations for the Town of
Southbridge” for secondhand junk, precious metals and old metals regulations.
