  1. Well 2 out of three ain't bad.

    Smoochie highly recommends LAZO

    L = leadership , levelheaded, localism

    A = advocate, approachable, ambassador

    Z = zealous, zippy, zestful

    O = objective, observant, optimistic

    Vote Lazo the experienced and compassionate candidate!

  2. I respect (tho I am choosing a bit different path) your choices. I find Martinek to be very intelligent; I simply find it hard to believe that he is going to change his stripes. I followed his blog for some time; while I agreed with his opinon on many topics, I found the delivery of his message to be quite vicious. I think he could have made his point without resorting to playground tactics (referencing those with a different opinion by calling them immature names - not the mark of someone who is 'willing to work with others' - highlights a 'my way or the highway' mentality) I think he will only bring more drama and controversy to the TC. In my opinion, Lazo was ineffective and Peloquin is too much in the pocket of Polakowski. I will likely vote for Spinelli, Clemence and Moriarity.
    Your choices for SC are spot on. New faces, great energy, truly invested in the school system for the long term.
    I know that others who read this blog may disagree with my choices for TC. That's okay. I will respect your choices if you respect mine. Voters don't change their viewpoint because they are bullied; they change their opinion because they are educated.

    1. Anonymous 8:21,

      John Polakowski grew up with my father on Lens Street in the 1960s, and he and his husband Billy are very good friends of the family. I am pleased to have their support for the campaign and I'm totally proud to a campaign sign in the window of their coffee shop on Hamilton Street. That being said, I wouldn't describe myself as being "in his pocket" and I'm puzzled by your use of the term.

      If you have any questions/concerns about this or any other issue, feel free to get in touch with me via phone or email: 774-318-9665 or amelia@electamelia.com.

      Best,
      Amelia P.

    3. Amelia,
      My sincere apologies...John Pulawski was what I meant to state. John Polakowski and Billy are personal friends. Shame on me for mistating the name.
      I think when I refer to being in the John Pulawski and Paul Zotos pocket, I am making a fair statement.

    4. Paul Zotos is a good friend and I am privileged to have his support as an active campaign volunteer. Mr. Pulawski isn't involved with my campaign and I don't see all that much of him. Neither individual has made a financial contribution, not that it matters. I'd like to think I might still be able to do work you'll appreciate independent of your current opinion of me, should the voters choose to elect me to one of the three Council seats Tuesday.

      Best,
      AP

  3. Spinelli and Clemence educated? You say one candidate is intelligent--I agree, but you seem to defend the name calling of Clemence by voting for her. That sounds hypocritical, but hey, it's your vote. I'm voting for Peloquin, Martinek and Moriarty. Watch the debates, you can see these educated people shine. If a persons past is to be held against them, what about Clemences past? Does that bother you, or does she just get a pass?

    1. I believe Denise is educated on the issues. She is constantly researching and digging and maybe finding information that is not comfortable for some. She is also willing to share her information in a constructive manner (unlike McDonald who thinks he's 'super spy lawyer guy'). The more he talks the less interested I am in what he has to say. His arrogance is excruciatingly painful. While Spinelli is def not my first choice, I do believe that a vote for the other candidates is a vote against the town of Southbridge. Again, not the popular opinion by many who post on this blog; however, I do appreciate the opportunity to share my thoughts.

    2. She’d be far more believable if she’d spent the last three years finding a way to keep her family’s company from shipping jobs to Canada than backing up Catherine the Grate.

  4. Ken I don't know your pick for School Committee. You can't tell were one ends and the other beings.. They are running together, Whats that about? They tout all the same things. It's like voting for conjoined twins..

  5. Anon 11:46 - Faternal Twins provide more individuality and less of a majority than the current set of Quadruplets.

  6. Anon 156 I have to say I kind of agree with Anon 1146, I want to see complete opposites in both groups. Then they will have to lobby and or debate with one another to get the others members to vote in agreement with them. That to me makes better politics. Then adding in two more that will team up. No more of this garbage of fab 4 or wonder twins, I don't see it as helpful for our community or kids. At least Dave stood on his own two feet and stood his ground if he didn't agree. I will miss him and his free thinking mind on the SC. I will vote for Donovan or McLoughlin, but not for both them the other vote will go to Pate.

  7. I would like to why Mcloughlin and Pate are always at school committee meeting but Donovan isn't? I won't be voting for her, she can't take time to sit there.

  8. I would just like to say thank you to Blown Away and Anon 7:13p for your support And good to all running for seats. No matter the out come we just have to stay on top of whoever is sitting on either SC and TC. Hold them accountable for their campaign promises and if you are not happy with their performance while serving then vote them out when their term is up. An if by chance I am lucky enough to win a seat I expect the voters to hold me to those standards.

  9. Remember being anonymous people will say hurtful things vs. having their names attached to their statements.
    Please tread softly with kindness and respect.
